On March 18-19, Ryerson University participated in Ontario Biology Day at Laurentien University in Sudbury ON. This meeting brought together ~200 undergraduate researchers from across Ontario to present their work in all aspects of biological science, including Cell Biology, Microbiology, Ecology and Evolution, Plant Biology, Health, and Genetics. Both Lauren Phillips and Tanuja Sutradhar did a great job presenting the they’ve spent so much of the last year working on. In the end, Lauren won the best research presentation in the microbiology category with her talk, entitled, “Are changes in the PmrD locus of adherent-invasive Escherichia coli (AIEC) associated with antimicrobial peptide resistance?”

Congratulations to both Lauren and Tanuja on a job well done!
